Flyer - Saturday, September 28th, 2013

Shock and Awe is an all night film festival running till almost the afternoon of the next day showcasing long lost drive-in shlock, and many other film never seen on the big screen.

It's presented by Dion Conflict and The Revue Cinema in Toronto.

"SHOCK AND AWE" pays homage to the grindhouse experience, unearthing some of the rawest and rarest 35mm and 16mm prints of these long lost films (which themselves more than likely ran in grindhouse theatres or low-rent drive-ins), with some prints being the last ...
remaining copies left of the films themselves.

Much more than just a film screening, SHOCK AND AWE is a genuine experience that cannot be missed. In addition to the unforgettable films on screen, there will be loads of merchandise, featuring obscure exploitation collectables, including Super 8 films, B-movie DVD's, and small press items from other GTA area film publications. Intermissions will also feature themed snack bar offerings at the Revue including breakfast items, film tie-in themed treats, and selections from local area restaurants.

This time around the features include a deranged Klaus Kinski as Jack the Ripper, the McDonalds friendly E.T. ripoff Mac & Me, Johnny Yuma (Shock & Awe’s first Western!), The Swingin Cheerleader, and a mystery film guaranteed to delight. Headlining the event will be Jean-Claude Van Damme’s breakthrough film Bloodsport!! All movies will be on 16/35mm film, and delicious food and goodies will be provided throughout the evening! Tickets available at the cinema, Film Buff West (73 Roncesvalles.), Eyesore Cinema (801 Queen St. W) & Suspect Video (605 Markham St.) $20 advance. $25 at the door.
